Dr. Bill Doherty is a professor in the Department of Family Social Science at the University of Minnesota where he oversees the Minnesota Couples on the Brink Project. He is a practicing marriage and family therapist and co-founder of The Doherty Relationship Institute. He is also founder of The Citizen Professional Center and cofounder of the Better Angels (now Braver Angels) Citizen Initiative. He is author of 17 books, recipient of the American Family Therapy Academy’s Lifetime Achievement Award, and recipient of the Significant Contribution to the Field of Marriage and Family Therapy Award from the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy.
